Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, met today with senior officials from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Masakatsu Morotani, Director of the Southwest Asia Division, and Ayako Shimizu, Senior Deputy Director.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, met today with senior officials from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Masakatsu Morotani, Director of the Southwest Asia Division, and Ayako Shimizu, Senior Deputy Director.

Welcoming the delegation to the Ministry, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary highlighted the long-standing and cordial relations between Pakistan and Japan. He expressed Pakistan's commitment to working closely with the Japanese government to further expand bilateral ties. The Japanese officials appreciated the Minister’s sentiments, affirming that both nations would continue to enhance cooperation across all sectors and move forward jointly for mutual progress.

Discussing the current regional situation, the Federal Minister stated that Pakistan fully supports all diplomatic efforts and negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He noted that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, in a statement on X, expressed Pakistan's readiness to host meaningful and result-oriented talks with the consent of the United States and Iran to find a comprehensive solution to the conflict. This initiative signals Pakistan’s voluntary commitment to de-escalating the war, with active roles being played by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal General Asim Munir.

The Japanese officials commended Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace. They stated that Japan is also prepared to play its part in bringing an early end to the conflict and expressed a shared desire for a swift resolution to the current global economic situation.
