US Embassy Officials Call on Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs; Acclaim Pakistan’s Role in Global Peace and Counter-Terrorism ISLAMABAD, June 29: A high-level delegation from the United States Embassy called on the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, at his office today. The US delegation included Minister Counselor for Political Affairs Counselor Terry Steers-Gonzalez and Internal Political Unit Chief Karen Glosser. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, regional security, diplomatic cooperation, and parliamentary affairs, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and the United States. The US officials highly commended Pakistan's strategic mediation role in fostering global peace and regional stability. Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated: "The visionary and proactive role played by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for global peace is receiving well-deserved recognition across the globe. The acknowledgment of Pakistan’s diplomatic endeavors by the United States and the international community is a matter of great pride for us." The Minister expressed confidence that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would soon materialize into a definitive final agreement. He extended his gratitude to both the US and Iranian leadership for reposing trust in Pakistan, noting that the appreciation extended by US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance toward the Pakistani leadership is highly commendable. During the discussion, the US officials strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Rangers Camp Office in Karachi, as well as all other recent incidents of terrorism across Pakistan. The US delegation explicitly stated that Pakistan possesses the full and sovereign right to defend itself against terrorism. Responding to this, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry welcomed the US stance and reiterated that Pakistan's security forces are taking every possible measure to curb terrorism and maintain law and order. The US delegation lauded the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for its highly positive and efficient role in managing parliamentary business, particularly during the critical Budget Session. Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry emphasized that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to fortifying democracy and the supremacy of the Parliament.
