Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs plays an important role in coordinating and maintaining liaison between the legislature and executive with the objective of ensuring harmonious functions of the polity. This Ministry oversees the entire legislative process, summoning of both the Houses of the Parliament to the prorogation, introduction of Bills, study and reports by the Standing Committees and final passage to the assent given by the President resulting to their notification as laws of the land.

Apart from the functions narrated above, Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing (PM’s PA & GW) of the Ministry works day and night to redress the grievances of general public. Thousands of applications/complaints are received from all corners of the country and are sent to the relevant Heads of the Ministries, Divisions, Departments and Organizations for their redressal.  The same are pursued so general public get relief.

Chief Election Commissioner and Members of the Election Commission of Pakistan are appointed through the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
